Originally from Ottawa, Dominique Denis lives in Toronto, where he has taught French as a second language in the public and private sectors for over 25 years.
Dominique’s teaching practice is characterized by the creation of pedagogical resources geared to specific audiences, including all material for Parlons chanson avec Dominique Denis, a conversation course he conceived and has been teaching for ten years. Designed for students of French as a second language, Parlons chanson offers an overview of French-language songs from Canada, Europe and other parts of the world.
Topics/ workshops include:
- Parlons chanson avec Dominique Denis – a conversation course designed for students of French as a second language who are at the intermediate or advanced levels (B1-B2).
- Le français par la chanson – created for teachers of French as a second or foreign language who are interested in ways to diversify and energize their teaching strategies. The workshop provides the opportunity to put into practice a series of communication activities developed as part of the conversation course, Parlons chanson avec Dominique Denis, and to learn how to adapt these activities for students of all ages and levels.
