Young Canada Works (YCW)

Are you a current high school, college, CEGEP or university student looking for a summer job that is relevant to your studies? A summer job can be more than just a way to earn money. Young Canada Works (YCW) offers a range of opportunities for students between 16 and 30 years of age.  Acquire work experience related to your studies and explore career opportunities while improving your second-language skills. You could also have a great geographic exchange experience and develop a network in official language minority communities. Apply and gain valuable experience, establish contacts within the workplace, and have fun this summer!

YCW sponsors two summer job programs for students:

Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations
This summer job program lasts between six and 16 weeks, and offers students job opportunities with organizations in Canada that have a heritage mandate. Students might organize cultural or recreational projects in a heritage organization, for example, or learn new skills in preserving and promoting our cultural heritage. Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages
This summer job program lasts between six and 16 weeks, and offers students job opportunities with organizations which conduct activities in both official languages. Students can gain practical work experience while improving their second language skills. YCW sponsors two internship programs for graduates:

Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage
This program offers several types of internships, giving graduates the opportunity to work with organizations that have a heritage mandate. Internships range from four to 12 months. Read more about who can apply to Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage.
Young Canada Works at Building Careers in English and French
