The Blue Metropolis Foundation consists of three main parts: the Festival (adult as well as Children's), Educational Programs, and the International Literary Series.
The Foundation's goal is to be an important cultural and social institution that plays a major role in the life of Montreal, of Quebec and of Canada as a whole by virtue of its mission to educate and promote literature, languages, diversity, inclusiveness and understanding to readers from all social and cultural backgrounds.
The Metropolis Blue Foundation offers a student First Peoples Essay Writing Competition. The purpose of this competition is to encourage university students to develop critical and innovative thinking while promoting interest in First Peoples and Canadian issues around this subject. It builds on the Blue Metropolis Foundation's core values by including cultural and linguistic diversity, quality and social inclusion, and promoting reading among youth.
